Kumho Tyres Links With Most Improved NRL Club To Drive Road Safety Initiative

Kumho Tyres has announced a new sporting partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the NRL, which will be used to drive an important road safety campaign for youth and students. Kumho has signed on as the official tyre partner and official partner for the NRL club’s men’s Head Coach for the 2025 and ’26 seasons. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs were rightly acknowledged as the most improved club in the 2024 NRL men’s competition under the stewardship of Head Coach Cameron Ciraldo, and expectations are high for the team in the upcoming 2025 season. The two-year agreement will not only see Kumho Tyre logos proudly adorned on the Head Coach’s game day attire and at both Accor Stadium , and Belmore Sports Ground , but will also engage with the Bulldogs’ community through its Game Changers Road Safety Program, with a focus on educating students on the importance of road safety.

Kumho Pioneers Digital Tyre Engineering And Design System

Global tyre manufacturer Kumho Tyre has announced that it has launched a new tyre digital twin system at its global headquarters in Seoul, marking a major step in the company’s effortas to digitalise its tyre development process. Shifting from traditional physical testing to virtual tyre development, Kumho says the new system enables the automatic design of multiple tyre versions using digital data and big data-based performance predictions. Kumho says its Digital Twin system shifts tyre development from traditional physical methods to a dynamic virtual environment and comes in response to the growing demand for digital transformation among automakers along with stricter environmental regulations. This allows design engineers to generate tyre designs, predict performance, optimise designs, and simulate vehicle performance - all within a digital framework. Using artificial intelligence (AI), the system selects the optimal design, and follows this up with a virtual evaluation based on vehicle dynamics analysis to verify tyre performance. “Tyres must meet strict standards for rolling resistance, braking, wear, comfort and noise reduction,” said the head of Kumho Tyre’s Virtual Product Development Centre Kim Keewoon. “Emphasising the need to optimise key design factors like compounds, tread patterns, structure and shape for more efficient testing and improvement of these elements,” he added. Kumho Tyre expects to shorten development timelines, improve performance and reduce costs with this system.

Another significant vehicle manufacturer has announced it has chosen Kumho Tyres as original equipment on a new battery electric model. Chery Australia has revealed the specifications for its new Chery Omoda E5 EV which includes 215/55 x18 Kumho Ecsta PS71 EV tyres as standard equipment across the range. Chery joins some of the highest profile brands in the automotive industry in embracing Kumho Tyres as original equipment, particularly on new generation electric vehicles, including Volkswagen, which has fitted them to its new ID4 and ID.Buzz models. Other major brands to specify Kumho Tyres as OE fitment includes BMW, which has fitted Kumho to its 1-Series, 2-Series, 3-Series, 5-Series and X3, and Mercedes-Benz which in recent months has selected Kumho as OE fitment on its high performance G-Wagon SUV. Jock and also Jesse from 4WD24/7 team, have recently returned from a ‘winter’ run to the tip of Cape York in ‘ordinary’ 4WDs equipped with the Kumho MT71 tyres.
